- Questions & Answers
Do you have any Question?Question: can you add a mesh pocket to the back of the cf pack? 12 Apr, 2015Answer: Unfortunately, the bags have already been sewn without mesh pocket. One could probably be added by sewing it on.Question: Does this model have a lid? Also, what does "arc" mean? Thanks. 16 May, 2015Answer: The Ti-Arc does not have a lid, but does offer a shelf above the arc bar (which is where the Arc in Ti-Arc comes from). The Arc bar helps to streamline the pack and is what helps improve the vertical load transfer of the pack to the hips, since the weight of the pack is suspended from the bar.Question: is the bag sewn on the frame at the top? how does the bag close? is the bag removable? 23 Nov, 2015Answer: The bag has a sewn channel that the removable arc bar fits through and then slides over the top posts of the frame. The bag and arc bar are removable.Question: Good afternoon I am considering a Vargo Arc for a trip I am planning, which will involve a considerable amount of portaging with my lightweight canoe. For trips like this, the canoe, a 13 pound hornbeck boat, is traditionally carried on a modified external frame pack and I am considering the Vargo Arc for this application. This raises questions about the weight limit of the Arc. Is the weight limit a function of the limitations of the titanium frame, or of the fabric of the bag or straps? I anticipate that with the canoe AND my gear, my load would exceed the 30 pound limit. If the titanium frame and the straps are strong enough to carry more than 30 pounds, the Arc might be the right choice for me. Thank you for any information you can provide. 04 Jan, 2016Answer: We hesitate to suggest carrying loads of over 30+ lbs. as it may put too much stress on the frame itself. Due to its lightweight design, the tubing and/or welds could give out under higher levels of stress and weight.
